Becoming
only ever a work in progress

Human Stem Cell
Monday 25th November, 2024
I came across this remarkable photograph of a human stem cell.
Remarkable for the technology able to capture something so tiny.
And remarkable still that we once were only these embryonic stem cells. Only pregnant possibility.
Each cell only a beginning, able to become blood, tissue, bone.
Pretty cool.
As adults it's easy to forget this power wired deeply into our DNA. Easy to trap ourselves inside the confines of the person we supposedly, unconsciously, became. Mistaking how we see the world now, as the world itself. Mistaking how we see ourselves now as who we truely are. When all along, we are always changing, always emerging, always becoming. Always only a work in progress.
'Every living being is in a process, which is simply the flow, the stream of its life journey' (Alan Kaplan).
Don't fall for the idea, now that you're grown, that you're done, complete.
Tomorrow can always be a new beginning.
